She's right about one thing: her coming out as trans absolutely did not help. At all. For so, so, so many reasons. She became the go-to image of what people pictured when someone mentioned trans people, and it was a very negative one.

It's like hating Democrats / liberals / etc. is more important than their own rights or anything they ever claimed the Republicans would fix. They'll bend over backwards inventing reasons to move on from Trump the left hasn't already claimed.

This podcast today was a thoughtful exploration of how Elizabeth Cady Stanton and other women in the suffrage movement chose to not only ignore intersectionality but actively fight against black male suffrage.
Caitlyn's statements here remind me of that elevating yourself in your rich, privileged position while otherizing people in your same demographic you see as less worthy than yourself for whatever reason. Transition and freedom for me but not for thee.
