@autistics #ActuallyAutistic if someone you barely knows asks you for resume advice, and you see something on their resume you personally have an ethical issue about, but you do not know their leanings, do you say something?

could you find a time to slip in some general tech tip like "anything political may lose half your audience?"
.
- nah, never mind, I'd be too scared

@punishmenthurts i suggested something slightly more neutral but this friend "assumes positive intent" and flat out said “This [Name of Group] is problematic.”

geez, I am not jealous. 😲
I might have to express my leanings by saying something like, "Yeah, I'm not going to be much help, I don't know that world or what they want," or something - but again, I'd sure be looking for a way out, FFS 💜
.
I mean, easy, AI answer is your resume shouldn't have problematic shit - but of coarse gaps are also not recommended, it's tough. If they're applying all around, they better make two resumes.

@punishmenthurts so friend followed up -- it went fine, but i still think there is potential exposure

then again, this is the featured quote in tomorrow's board newsletter:

You don’t decide to trust someone.
It happens or it doesn’t.
No matter how much you want it to.
