It is an alternative English word for donkey. The hashtag refers to donkeys. I cannot see the harm in that. It's like you could use "pigstodon" for all things relating to piggys. Even if some people use pig as a derrogative term it doesn't harm those beautiful and intelligent animals either.

J'en ai discuté avec quelques ânes, ils ont trouvé l'idée absolument géniale et se sont marrés. Vous avez déjà parlé avec des ânes ?
