As someone who routinely has to arrange asbestos surveys and removals for their job, I find the metaphor apt for AI.
If you live in a 1960’s/70’s home, asbestos is in everything…so much so that I can read multiple asbestos reports on a property of this era going back over 10 years that each time identify a new source of concern.

@JugglingWithEggs @1sxteenthDANE @randahl @pluralistic You're not wrong. But, for some cases it will be more like curing the effects of breathing asbestos. It's a problem better avoided and one that is much harder to fix than it was to create.
It'll be the stockholders who are left holding the bag, together with everyone who depended on the technology that falls ill with AI.
