“We really don’t have a mechanism to fund the need for conservation of our rare species or those species that aren’t hunted and fished,” said Kristin Hall, supervisor for the Nongame Wildlife Program. “Things like a tax checkoff or direct donation are the one way that we can generate revenue for this important work.”
