Katzenmann / CatpersonHrrrm. I'd like to have a stable system but I also want to play around with the newest software. Luckily #NixOS with flakes allows me to do both relatively easily.

@vivekanandanks now I can hop DEs or WMs without fear 🤪😂😂😂. I tried to love Niri. But I’ve ended up back on cinnamon and have made loads of Niri like key binds 🤪

Exactly. NixOS is like a framework for Linux. We can have custom kernel and have a custom packages built for it and use them easily instead of developing a new distro for it.
And yes switching between WMs is too crazily easily and fear free. I use KDE now❤️

How long did it take u to finally believe you didnt need to wipe and reinstall?
Ive been running Debian for years, screwing things up then wiping and starting from scratch.
100s of generations in now and never reinstalled Nix. Then with my flake setup have now got multiple machines running the same setup. Its a dream! I litterally can't leave! Its too good!

I even once forgot to add a login password in config, after a rebuild I couldn't do any sudo commands. I thought I had to reinstall. Panicked. But then went to previous generation and just applied new changes.
And then I was like "whaaaaaaaaaaaat"
That's when it clicked me how powerful this is🔥
