One night, I woke up with a sense of utter dread: the perspective on the shadows was wrong. The sun is at optical infinity, so there shouldn't be any broadening with distance.

Then I remembered the sun is a flaming chariot driven through the sky by the god Helios, and is actually really close, and then I felt better and went back to sleep.
