Fedi, I'm at a total loss on how to sort this one out. I've got an Elgato wave: 3 that worked great for 18 months and one day after updates it stopped registering input.

Its odd, it shows up normally in ALSA and pipewire. Volume and mute status work in software and hardware and accurately update when one is changed.

It just won't let me talk into it 😥.

I've tried the fixes suggested here: https://github.com/jmansar/wavexlr-on-linux-cfg

I've tried manually using arecord and some other tests but I can't get it to record audio anymore.

I should have taken note, but I want to say I noticed it around kernel 6.17.7.

I have no playback issues and can use other microphones as inputs without issue.

@skimm Found anything suspicious in alsamixer and/or pavucontrol?

@mitscherdinger
Nope they respond as expected. Changes made in either for volume or mute status are reflected on the mics hardware indicators and vice versa.

Putting this out there did make me realize I've not tried it for another device yet so I should do that.

Will report back if I have any good updates. I'll sure look silly if the hardware itself is actually just borked.
