Remember how nice it was to be able to click and drag from almost anywhere along the title bar? We didn’t feel that space was wasted even back when we had only 342 pixels vertically.
@drdrang Oh my goodness that is one of those tiny little cuts that bothers me every day! It seems like an example of Apple having lost institutional memory of the values presented in the early Human Interface Guidelines
@drdrang Idk what all UI designers are smoking but I'd like to know so I can avoid it
@drdrang I kind of feel like nobody at Apple uses multiple windows anymore — maybe Apple can’t hire any programmers who grew up with Macs, and everyone was a Windows user? This is one of the most annoying changes, since it affects me many, many times every day…
@pukku There are many things Apple does now that strike me as MS-inspired. None of them good. The most generous thing I can say about the title bar problem is that maybe the designers all use utilities like Moom and don’t drag windows anymore.
@drdrang I’m thinking about this every time I’m trying to drag Edge.
@drdrang a thing we frequently bemoan as well :(
@drdrang I've resorted to enabling "NSWindowShouldDragOnGesture" so you can hold CMD+CTRL and click & drag anywhere in window. So annoying this is almost required now.
@dlehman I’ll give that a try, but I don’t know if I can overcome 40 years of clicking and dragging with no keys.
