IBM is first firm to pay penalty under Trump's "Civil Rights Fraud Initiative."

@arstechnica
Capitulating to fascists is what IBM does.
@NMBA @arstechnica surely paying the penalty is the opposite of capitulating?
@NMBA @arstechnica (capitulating would have been simply ending dei programmes when Trump announced the new laws, rather than paying a fine for having kept dei practices in place, even though they didn't admit anything)
@sldrant @arstechnica
Not capitulating would be taking the govt to court to end the unconstitutional govt action.
@NMBA @arstechnica maybe, but surely that's unwinnable as it's law and isn't a violation of the constitution.
@NMBA @sldrant @arstechnica Capitulation was Target's response.
@arstechnica @StillIRise1963 Ooooooo big bad monster corporation cowers in the face of Fascism. Interesting.
@arstechnica Fraud Initiative indeed. Everything about Trump and his corrupt cronies is fraud and a grift. Shame on IBM for not having backbone.
@arstechnica remember when we let IBM continue to exist after they helped the fascists last time? Let's not make that mistake again.
@arstechnica BlackRock's Larry Fink has done the same thing. At the end of the day, it shows that for any corporation, it comes down to money. They will do what helps them make a profit. Diversity means zilch to them, except when there's a perceived financial & PR benefit.
@arstechnica freaking A. Well, they did collaborate with the Nazis before, right?

@arstechnica Uh…. Someone should let the government know that the CEO isn’t a white christian.

I’d met Arvind multiple times when he led the Information Management group at IBM, and he was smart, genuine, and kind each time we crossed paths.

@arstechnica @briankrebs Obviously IBM wasn’t following their slogan.
