I'm considering buying one of the modern MPCs (One+, Live 3, etc), and I have a question:

Would I have issues using a new MPC without access to a Windows or Mac PC? I only have Linux machines, and I don't want to rely on Wine for anything crucial.

It looks like firmware updates can happen via wifi or file transfer. I don't really care about the virtual instrument/plugin side of things and would be using it as a sampler/sequencer.

Naah, I think it's all commendably stand-alone now. I can't think of any reason I've had to tether any of mine recently.

My fave thing is the wi-fi Splice integration. That shit has saved me fucking hours of tether/dump tedium.

@Jyoti oh, that's nice to hear. I can't (and don't want to) deal with any of that inmusic software shit.
