Honestly, I was about to cancel my developer account at Apple. Why?

Well, my 2018 MacBook Pro gets a bit slow Burckhard not bothering me. What’s bothering me is, that it doesn’t support #macOS Tahoe anymore and won’t support any future #Xcode releases.

But you need the most recent Xcode version to release apps at some point. It‘s not like with android where you could have a decade old laptop with the most recent android studio on it.

So I thought, I don’t program a lot, I could even stop it completely and save the money I’d have to spend on a new MacBook.

But frankly, I like writing apps for iOS. Even the tiny amount of programming I do is a fun time for me. I also like being able to extend the capabilities of my devices with programs I write.

So I decided to bite the bullet and get an #M5 MacBook #Air, because a M5 Pro MacBook Pro, albeit very tempting, just isn’t necessary…

And then came the #MacBook #neo. And I’m really not sure what to buy. I know that the neo and the air both can do what I need them to do today (even with the limited RAM of the Neo). But can they - like my 2018 pro - in 6-7 years? I want the device for as long as possible.

Also, a backlit keyboard is nice to have. But then again, a dedicated SD card slot of the pro is very nice to have.
