Autism Acceptance vs Autism Awareness?

Angels dancing on heads of pins?

I'm more into Autism Equity. I don't want someone's condescending acceptance of me.

I want what everyone wants. As free a life as anyone else. And freedom without equity doesn't seem remotely possible for me.

Acceptance? Awareness? I don't need to salve anyone's feelings or self image.

In the words of Bladerunner... I want more life... f***er.

@johnnyprofane1 Having danced that dance as a gay person, my feeling is that awareness/understanging is a gateway to equity. It’s not fast but you can’t get there if they don’t know and acknowledge you first. Otherwise you’re forever the scary, dangerous other.
