Dune: Awakening to get self-hosted servers, plus they're splitting PvE and PvP

Funcom are finally dealing with some of the wider issues in the MMO Dune: Awakening, which includes expanded self-hosting support and more focus on PvE.

@gamingonlinux pirate software is in shambles
@gamingonlinux Holy! I might actually try this game, when private servers are implemented. Great news that they chose this path.

@gamingonlinux i love that they are opening self hosting. But:

"Please be advised that the initial setup for this first iteration of the feature is more technical than most other games and requires a computer running Microsoft Windows Pro with Hyper-V in order to run the servers in a Linux Virtual Machine (VM). "

As someone who does not run anything but Linux, this, admittedly seems a bit dumb.

"You must have a windows pro license to run this on Linux"

😵‍💫

@rasmus91 Since it's a test version it makes sense that it wouldn't be optimal, probably close to matching the devs' workflow if I had to guess.

@ItsFunkyCaptain yeah, that's what i figure too.

It's just oddly specific to "make sure you're on windows so you can Linux this!"
