I may well build 2.5g opnsense routers from older kit - like 6th gen i7 or better, that is a low barrier and you can get plenty of these machines with 16gb, maybe i get intel nic. 10/100 also. the entire crash thing will be less impactful on lower end parts; datacenter upgrades will be happening and eventually parts could get cheap again on secondary mkts (ebay alibaba) #hyve server
