I'm <Insert Name> and I'm British. I'm on a quest to understand India, home to almost one and a half billion people. I'll be visiting exotic places, like the Taj Mahal, trying typical Indian dishes, such as beef vindaloo, and talking to an eccentric guru, the billionaire owner of a major conglomerate, a Bollywood actress and the curator of a small museum dedicated to the British Raj to find out just what makes this remarkable country tick.
I pitched for a ten part series, but was told that the BBC budget didn't extend to that and I could only have a 1 hour filler to be aired between Strictly Come While Dancing and Murder in a Small English Village. They said that if I wanted to make something longer, it would have to be exploring somewhere local, so my next series is Traipsing Across Bedfordshire.
@allrite Pretty sure I saw the Joanna Lumley version of this.
