A blockade is not gonna do anything, except turn everyone even MORE against the US.
We already abused and misused smart ordnance, to near strategic (not tactical) depletion, wrecked a lot of Iranian military, killed a LOT of key personnel.
It's not gonna kill the ayatollah regime. It DID make Iranian people even more miserable, less secure, more afraid, desperate. That kind of thing throws people at the mercy of whoever is in power.
