Traveling from #Delhi to #Meerut by bus for the first time, to host this month’s #OpenStreetMap Delhi (well, NCR) mapping party.

There’s a lot to map along the way, but it’s also a rather shaky, bumpy, and rattle-y ride.

(Yes, I could’ve taken the RRTS/RapidX, but that was already mapped and the bus route isn’t…)

Thanks to a series of blunders, it’s almost 1 AM and I’m still not home.

However, it’s given me the opportunity to survey more bus routes - about 5 of them in total.

@contrapunctus wait you have buses at 1 AM? KSRTC buses stop existing after 8:30 PM
@libreinator @contrapunctus and I thought NBSTC was incompetent AF. (jk it still is, and KSRTC goated fr)

@libreinator UPSRTC Delhi-Meerut buses run all through the night.

DTC bus routes have a night service. They run once every 30 minutes, I think. (Perhaps @delhi_transport_corporation can confirm.)

I really don’t like how all Indian Metro services stop existing after roughly 23:30 hours. 🫤 I’d much rather they emulate the Mumbai suburban railway in that regard…

@contrapunctus @delhi_transport_corporation the Delhi night buses run every 30 mins? In Kerala the day buses run every 30 minutes
@libreinator @contrapunctus @delhi_transport_corporation because under communism we need not work for as long hence we don't need the buses to run that long/often /s
