Nice bike ride on the Iron Horse Regional Trail in San Francisco/Oakland north East Bay area

We stayed in Dublin CA Friday night for a Saturday morning 42 mile bike ride my wife and some of our friends did as part of the women's only Cinderella bike ride. I’m told that it was a nice event and an enjoyable course.

As for me, I decided to explore the Iron Horse Regional Trail on a 32 mile out and back from Dublin past Danville to my Walnut Creek turnaround. It’s a very nice paved trail 10 or so feet wide with 50 yards or so of open space and trees along the way. It was originally a rail line, so the trail is flat and mostly straight, something I’m not used to living in the Santa Cruz area.

Along the way the trail is bordered by neighborhoods and schools. It’s a well used trail with lots of runners, walkers, and families with kids and dogs, mostly locals, presumably.

It’s a bike trail I’d recommend.

@rdfranke and once you get to Walnut Creek, there are other trail networks that you could explore.
@footsteps Thanks. We do bike weekends so that's something to consider for our list and it’s reasonably close to Santa Cruz.
