I bet that was the influence of Hunga Tonga's water vapour injection into the stratosphere in January 2022. Jucker et al 2024 https://journals.ametsoc.org/view/journals/clim/37/17/JCLI-D-23-0437.1.xml has seasonal maps for impacts on temperature and precip. The Arctic sea on the whole in Spring warms by 0.5 degrees over the modelled 4 years starting 2025, adjacent high-latitude land mass cools or heats 3x that much.
I wouldn't be surprised if the monster heatwave in the USA is also a spin-off from #HungaTonga . Jucker shows elevated spring temperature there, and also the heavy rain over Hawaii, which fuelled the heat dome via some magical rain physics where the clouds release heat when they burst or something... and the sharp ridge over the border with Canada which kept the heat locked south smells like HungaTonga meddling with the jet stream.
