You tell someone that their refrigerator produces more heat than it consumes in energy and they're like "sure, makes sense, its whole job is to take heat away from the food inside, and nothing can be 100% efficient so there's bound to be some extra waste heat" but then you tell someone that a heat pump produces more heat than it consumes in energy and they're like "BuT ThErMoDynAmICs!"
