Are you aware of your daily energy levels?

Are you tired first thing and brighten up in the afternoon?

Or do you battle against that after-lunch slump?

🔴 I exacerbated the problem by resorting to excessive caffeine and sugary snacks…

Then I started tracking my food and drink with MyFitnessPal. 👀

Analysing my intake helped me experiment and understand the impact of caffeine on my energy levels and concentration.

🟢 I had DATA to make informed decisions.

🟢 I iterated on small changes and learned from them for better energy levels.
🟢 Almost sounds like an engineering process...

You don’t need to track your food 365 days a year...

But your energy levels play a huge role in your wellbeing & performance as a software developer and are definitely worth paying attention to.

I track my intake for a couple of weeks every 3-4 months and evaluate whether my decisions align with how I want to feel.

Ultimately, I’m more focused, productive and a nicer person to be around because of it. 👀
