Woman struck by lightning in Superior identified, still in critical condition

A woman struck by lightning in Superior this week has been identified and is still in critical condition, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday morning.

The Denver Post

@ai6yr I hope she pulls through. I got struck by lightning and survived. My cell phone was destroyed. She is in for a few weird things. I haven't been able to sleep in the dark since for some odd reason.

A short thread about it, last post has cw exit wound scars

@ai6yr sorry , reposted so the link is a quote post...
@paul Wow, is getting struck by lightning a family hazard?!?!
@ai6yr It is in my family. In the one thread in 2nd post I talk about my grandfather and uncle
@paul Yes, that was the reason for my question!! Wow.
@paul Also interesting on the wound responding to the atmosphere. I mean, I know that happens with people with arthritis etc. but hadn't heard about it with scars before (but makes perfect sense to me!)
@ai6yr not sure why it happens. For what it is worth, the entry wound has never fully healed and it has been forever and a week since it happened
@paul I had a relative with wound healing issues, it's apparently a whole medical specialty to figuring those out. (I know there is some research on honey being used for those cases, which I only know because of beekeeping. Reputedly only certain kinds of honey, but I suspect probably many kinds...).
