rumors of peace
what I learned
from the dune grass

When seas turn angry, sand dunes
have always brokered peace

Wind whispers
Of hidden things
Buried in the sand

Our footprints on beach sand
only touch the Milky Way

tranquil sunrise walk
a lone angler casts seaward
sanderlings take flight

I fiddled with your verses this morning, and added some of my own. I’m sure I broke some rules.

Meta-communication on this:

I’m aware that this is a hybrid of collaboration and appropriation. You tooted your verses in a thread, somewhat collaboratively, not knowing that they might be appropriated for something out of your control. Guilty.

@MarkBrigham @NaraMoore @extraspecialbitter For myself, I welcome your honest, genune engagement. Yoroshiku onigaeshimasu!

We all worry too much about how others perceive us and what we contribute. Including me. Except a few narcissists.

Squirrels' mating seems no more inappropriate than drunken flirting and or sex on the beach.

And if anyone is worried about being proper lable it Kyōka: (狂歌, "wild" or "mad poetry")

Hello new pocket friends and poets,

extra special bitter posted a haiku prompt this morning, and I replied, and we did a 2-person rengay throughout the day.

Thought Nara and Steven would be interested to see where this conversation led.
