@jeffowski I had an employer who took years to repay the lawsuit against them. If I had joined the class action for the amount they paid I would have had to spend more time following up than the hours they owed. Also, they wanted me to regularly register all of my details.

@jeffowski

"I'll go ahead and get the paperwork started on that. My office should have that money en route to you by the beginning of the next quarter," is roughly how I'd respond to their request to return funds.

Fuck those people.

@jeffowski She believed in God so she deserves jail time
@jeffowski our clash is not Left vs Right, it’s Up vs. Down.

@jeffowski

Look at the police response when a poor colored kid goes missing vs. the united CEO murder.

Tyrants protect their own at our expense. How long will we continue to feed them while we starve?

@jeffowski They only call it "class warfare" when the workers fight back.

@jeffowski

Tell that classicism is the only real war to the disproportionate number of people of color in prison for drugs, to the LGBTQ kids who can't play little league sports, to the black and brown immigrants being hunted down by ICE agents, to the women who get paid 80 cents on the dollar, to the 99% of stop and frisk victims of color who had their fourth amendment rights violated, etc...

@jeffowski oh yes, that's classic. my family shipped me a surprise birthday gift from europe to the US. it was left in front of my door by fedex (no signature needed). since this happened around the time when trump was doing his thing with tarrifs and shipping regulations two months later fedex sent me a bill for customs plus their "processing fee". i tried to ask some lawyers if that is even legal (my family had no idea about which career would be used, what their internal regulations would be or what tariffs would apply by the time the gift was shipped and i had no way of refusing or even knowing about the delivery). the lawyers not only told me that fedex did nothing wrong but advised me to pay (to avoid further problems) and sue my family for the amount i paid in customs if i really wanted that back - for sending me a birthday gift that is...
@jeffowski TBH, her employer probably did owe her that 19K$
@jeffowski Apparently, refusing to return money that you obviously received in error is generally considered a criminal offense.
@jeffowski Over here in the UK I'm pretty sure that this would just be a civil debt. In the other direction we have employment tribunals for unfair dismissal, unpaid wages etc. https://www.gov.uk/employment-tribunals
Make a claim to an employment tribunal

How to take an employer to a tribunal: the hearing, what happens if you lose your case, how to appeal.

@jeffowski In the early days of cash machines, a friend was given free money by a cash machine. She went into the bank to return the money and report the problem. They called the police.
