My introvert 19yo daughter has been accepted for a student exchange program in #exeter university (Health & Life Sciences) in 26Q3 but has cold feet due to rumors it's a posh, partying and racist place.

Anyone know anyone who could comment on how #ExeterUni is like nowadays (as opposed to 2018 when there was a public racist issue in a student chat group)?

(boosts help reach so they are greatly appreciated)

@futtta I work at Exeter University - I'm a technician in Plant Science, so not the most undergrad facing, but I do some work with them. Exeter has a higher proportion of richer students than some universities, and accommodation can be expensive. The town itself is not especially ethnically diverse. But there is a thriving queer and neurodiverse student scene, life sciences is one of the more diverse faculties and there's a huge anti racist mobilisation against the far right going on in Exeter at the moment. Happy to talk to her if you want. I can also try and see if I can find any undergrads to talk to her, but it's Easter holidays at the moment so that might have to wait a bit
@futtta @SaintlySin @CuterwithCatEars and @Zefruitbatty all also work at the University of Exeter so tagging them in
