Coworker donated a sealed box of 8” floppy disks! Made in 1989 so definitely late in life for 8 inch drives. #retroputing
@particlesbbs Lovely! Do you have anything to put them in? I have some 8" floppies but nothing to use them with.
@gmc I do! I have a Tandy model II, 12 and 16 over here.

@particlesbbs That's awesome!

I do have a TRS-80, but it has a 5.25" disk unit. One of them is broken though (one of the heads came loose).

I don't know much about the TRS-80 though, it's not a computer you saw much around here back in the day. I'm going to have to do my research on it, can one even use it with one disk? My very brief inital exploration required a DOS disk (if that is the right word) to be present to be able to look at the contents of other disks.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling now :)

@gmc The 'large models' were all business based so you didn't see them often at all, and there are not many left. Yeah, you definitely need a boot disk of sorts (DOS of some sort) to do much of anything, unlike the Color Computer models.
