Native Americans were gambling with dice 6,000 years earlier than anyone else, study says

Archaeological record suggests hunter gatherers were playing games of chance at the end of the last ice age

@Lazarou
I know that dogs bargain, and pretty sure corvids gamble

There have been several experiments with corvids using a food-based system of what is essentially a one-armed-bandit peanut dispenser. Some of the animal experiments either show that most all animals except felines will work, even if they get ample foodreward without work - but those can also be interpreted as play/gambling

@mloxton "...except felines"
That is so 'cat', lol

@Lazarou

Yah.
In the studies I read, cats were the ONLY species to adopt the "homo economicus" model of examining situations according to payout and acting in a "what's in it for ME" fashion.

The rest were, cool, work is good, even if I don't need the reward
