One more finished model, a million new things I tried for the first time. The most notable were blending contrast paints (the red on the wings and black on the blade on top of the head), and the crackling on the base.
Biggest mistake was not to undershade enough before applying the contrast paints.
The yellow Orconzola now has two companions: Big Boy Blue, and the greenest Green Knight.
I am still absolutely terrible at both blending and basing, but I think I am slowly getting a hang about edge highlighting and gaining some brush control (I know it is nothing special, but I am very proud of the tiny free-hand on the green orc's shield).
With the arrival of the "Fabulous Pink Orc", the "Powwa Renga" orc squad is complete.
Somebody asked me where the black Powwa Renga was, so I painted one.
(First attempt at volumetric highlights and NMM. Happy about the overall look, but unhappy about my choice of light placement. It looks off.)
1. The true metallic colors by Vallejo are truly good.
2. The wash is super-powerful (i.e. I used too much and the whole thing is way too dark)
3. Never ever be as stupid as me and start putting down grass before the paint on the mini is dry 😓
A more bite-sized one for a short painting session.
Not even 100% sure what it is. It was together with the Space Marines.
(I later found that a drop of glue must have fallen out of the bases, so now a piece of it is forever glued to my painting handle 🤦♂️ )

@j_bertolotti I know that photos rarely perfectly reflect the model, but that model looks amazing. It doesn't appear to dark though again it could be the photo.
Honestly all your minis in this thread look awesome. Don't be too hard on yourself.
@nurglerider I am actually very happy, but I am still a beginner, meaning I am trying out a lot of stuff for the first time. Sometimes it just doesn't work, and I am left wishing I did something different, sometimes it works in a way I was just not expecting.
It is the normal process of learning 😉

@j_bertolotti I watched the OG season as a kid and it was the coolest stuff ever.
Rewatched it recently and it turned out to be actually very wired. Taking a 80s Japanese show "Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger" and inserting 90s US Highschool stuff into it... However, secretly I still think it's the coolest stuff ever and the into theme is still kicking😅
