rumors of peace
what I learned
from the dune grass
When seas turn angry, sand dunes
have always brokered peace
Wind whispers
Of hidden things
Buried in the sand
Our footprints on beach sand
only touch the Milky Way
tranquil sunrise walk
a lone angler casts seaward
sanderlings take flight
Peregine watching
The cycle's apex

I fiddled with your verses this morning, and added some of my own. I’m sure I broke some rules.

Meta-communication on this:
I’m aware that this is a hybrid of collaboration and appropriation. You tooted your verses in a thread, somewhat collaboratively, not knowing that they might be appropriated for something out of your control. Guilty.

I’m also aware that grey squirrels making love might not be apical Japanese poetry, & I actually had a different line composed, but then…
A pair of Grey squirrels made love in my tree as I fiddled with these verses. So I included them.
Grey squirrels, tree, a river, otters, Red-shouldered Hawks screeching—everything one might expect in my back yard this time of year.
And so it goes. (2/2)

This touches on a thematic aspect…
If we did a modestly scaled, collaborative linked verse, it might be good to start in more of a plein air mode. I.e., emphasize the here and now of a scene, rather than progression or inference.
For starters.
Perhaps evolve or advance to more sophisticated constructs… (3/2)
