I'm not converting webms to mp4s for iToddlers anymore.
@[email protected] Huh, is this why Invidious has been funky on my iPhone? I've noticed that many videos that otherwise play perfectly fine on my (dying) laptop, Galaxy Tab, and even iPad Air 2 shit themselves to death on my iPhone. I have been suspecting codec issues (specifically either Apple removing support or not implementing it at all), as I noticed on NewPipe that videos can be encoded on VP9, which goes with WEBM, or AV1, which goes with MP4, though I'm not an expert on codecs and I noticed on very rare occasions that a video that was shitting itself before will manage to play.

May also be the fact that Apple uses Webkit, though, which I at least like for keeping Chrome at bay but is otherwise a loss for us users who have to deal with its weird quirks.
@radmin I wish I could be more helpful. All I know is that if it ends in webm then iPhone users complain and I'm fed up keeping two copies of every single goddamn meme just for them. They can install VLC and hope or lose out.

And in case anyone goes thinking I'm an Android supremacist that is absolutely false, I've used both and Android is by far the inferior platform but no Samsung user ever went "erm, webm?" at me so whatever.
