Yeah... Got an email from SourceForge, we need to remove 37GB+ of historical data (all releases) for Natron.

If you need any old releases download them now. This also includes SDK files, third-party source etc.

I will mirror the repo on my local machine before anything is deleted.

We do have releases on GitHub, but our SourceForge repo predates GitHub releases.

btw, any tips on services (free for OSS) that can host large files for archive/history purposes?

Storage issue on SourceForge (old releases will be deleted) · Issue #1076 · NatronGitHub/Natron

Got an email from SourceForge that we use too much storage for old/archive releases. SourceForge hosts all known releases of Natron (before we started using GitHub releases), and also SDK files for...

@rodlie I would sniff around Codeberg?
@troy_s I don't really want to burden them with that amount of files, they also don't provide regular file hosting (can only attach files to release tags as on GitHub etc). What we need is basic static file hosting.

@rodlie Maybe just go with some commercial cold storage then? Someone would have to foot the bill, but I imagine the monthly rate for cold storage would be low.

Either that or let it dust…

Not all things require permanence.

@troy_s I will take a backup and store it for as long as possible.

Paying for hosting is not an option.

This is mostly for preservation/history, so not the end of the world.
