It’s been the longest day of travelling…and we’re still not home. We haven’t had fuel protests to deal with today, just major delays on Welsh and English roads.

We made a critical decision around 8pm that we were going to have to stop for the night…2 solid days of driving had exhausted me. So we booked a Holiday Inn online about an hour away. It would have cost us over twice as much if we’d just rocked up. It also has a bank of EV chargers we can use to slow charge overnight…yay!

Still haunted by the #fuelprotests I saw firsthand on the roads approaching Dublin yesterday.

Norway is now reported to have a ‘Diesel Roar’ protest taking place around Oslo.

I think it is just a matter of days if not hours before the UK is hit by such protests.

This will bring into sharp focus how reliant we too are on ‘just in time’ supply chains delivered by road not rail.

There will no doubt be much handwringing and demonising of hauliers and farmers…but will UK gov criminalise them?

@JugglingWithEggs EV chargers at places you actually go to rather than simply at petrol stations are probably the best advantage electric vehicles have over ICE ones.

@beemoh

Destination chargers are great! It’s great having them at supermarkets - an hour doing the weekly shop is maximised by also charging the EV.
