You should look into self hosting some of your services. An old PC or laptop should get you started.

For the dual boot, I would recommend buying a tiny USB pen drive or a SD card fast enough to run a Linux OS.

Install a Linux distro onto it, making sure you install the boot on the new drive and not on the PC hard drive. In this way you will keep the Win installation intact, and boot Linux directly from pen drive /SD card (normally pressing F12 during PC boot).

@ggrey thanks for the advice! For the self hosted services I'm more than happy to host them on the NAS once I learn some Docker basics, but the biggest mental hurdle for me is just working out which services I actually want to run!
