Iustitia Europa announced it is filing criminal charges against Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli military leadership, accusing them of war crimes following the alleged assault on a Spanish UNIFIL peacekeeper in Lebanon.
The group stated that the soldier, deployed on a peacekeeping mission, was illegally detained, assaulted, and coerced by Israeli occupation forces, calling it a serious violation of international law, UN Resolution 1701, and the Geneva Conventions.
They stressed that targeting a UN peacekeeper undermines international legitimacy, urging accountability and warning that silence would amount to accepting impunity.
