@arstechnica Your daily reminder that uBlock Origin (https://ublockorigin.com) is completely free. 😁
uBlock Origin - Free, open-source ad blocker extension

uBlock Origin is a free, open-source ad blocker extension and content blocker. Block ads on YouTube, Twitch, and across the web with low CPU and memory usage. Available for Firefox, Edge, Opera, and Chrome via uBlock Origin Lite.

uBlock Origin
@Razemix @arstechnica uBlock Origin is very nice but it oft glitches the site out, because they still manage to detect running ad blockers. :/
@Xarizzar @arstechnica For me it sometimes takes a while to start playing a video. Very rarely (like once a week?) I need to reload the page. But other than that, nothing major. 🤷‍♂️ Still worth it. And without it, the web (outside of fedi and indie web) is practically unusable.
@Razemix Absolutely. I was just talking about YouTube. Running a browser without an ad blocker nowadays is a death wish
@arstechnica I have an idea. Don't pay Primium but install the uBlock origin browser extension.
@arstechnica
Also YouTube is pushing repellent AI slop and disinformation accounts.
A business model worth skipping.
@arstechnica buying premium is quite literally rewarding YouTube for making their platform worse. Ads were never *that* bad until the introduction of premium.
@arstechnica Netflix Netflix raised subscription prices… I canceled. YouTube premium is raising subscription pricing…
