Craig K6KHChecking up on some shack RFI today. I have this raspy sounding noise across almost all HF bands. Cutting power to the house and running on battery doesn’t change it. Seems to be external power line noise. Next step is to walk the neighborhood with an AM radio. Any other suggestions from the fediverse? #hamradio #rfihunting
another interesting finding. I recorded audio of the buzzing in Audacity and added a 120hz sine wave for comparison. The peaks of the buzzing line up to the 120hz cycle. More evidence the buzzing is power related. Idea for this from a YT video by VE7WNK.
