@carolannie Spent a lot of time fishing along the edges of kelp, in the early morning migrating king salmon hunt herring in those forests. Rockfish as well, anytime the current isn’t moving fast. Vitally important for lots of species.

@carolannie I don't know much about the citizen science side of it, but I worked on the web side of a project working on bull kelp in the Puget Sound, among many other marine ecology projects in that area. They have citizen science aspects if you feel like getting out and taking measurements.
