I just spent a very sobering hour viewing the Outsiders exhibition by @marcdavenant at Glasgow’s Street Level Photoworks and while the photographs are superb and exceptionally moving, the very fact that an exhibition about homelessness is even necessary in 21st century Britain is absolutely shameful.
If you have the chance to see this work I very much recommend that you do.

@marcdavenant There is a problem in Glasgow with street beggars being run by organised gangs.
I have seen these mostly east European women being dropped off early in the morning by a van, then they spread out around the city, begging all day, then are collected in the evenings.
No doubt these poor women are victims of traffickers and are being exploited, but that's another issue.
I have little doubt that this evil practice impacts on those truly homeless people desperate for help.
Yes that’s a common problem in all cities these days, especially at weekends during tourist season. It does impact on those experiencing homelessness even though they are easy to spot. In York there are loads of beggars everywhere but only a small number of genuinely street homeless people.
@StevenLawsonPhotography @marcdavenant same as it ever was. Certainly on my list to see.
@StevenLawsonPhotography @marcdavenant I bought the book, it's a powerful piece of social commentary.
