I had my blood taken for some tests yesterday and as usual I slowly slid into panic during the procedure.

I avoid painkillers when I have headaches etc because I often choke on the pills.

Apologies to other neurodiversities that are not represented in this poll but the instance I am on only allows 4 options. @AutisticInnovator can we change that?
@SecondUniverse yes we can. I will email the hosting company in a bit once I finish waking up.
@SecondUniverse I think it’s dependent on the mix of sensory sensitivities you have.
@SecondUniverse I'm fine, but my OH, and youngest...also autistic...do have problems with pills.
@SecondUniverse I have to swallow pills with a drink otherwise I can't swallow them.

@SecondUniverse ADHD, swallows metric tonnes of pills at one go. My wife and stepdaughter are both ND and have difficulty with *one* large pill; they ask me to find Wee Smol pills for them, or gelcaps....

Anecdata not big enough to run stats on, but....

@SecondUniverse
I generally don't have a problem with both, but had as a child.
Especially since back then blood was drawn with a syringe and I still rember getting multiple syringes drawn from one spot and the needle moving around in my arms.

Today it can happen, that I have a reaction, probably falling of blood pressure and not enough blood getting to the brain, but it usually doesn't happen.

@SecondUniverse

I often don’t bother with painkillers because by the time the pain is registering, ordinary painkillers often aren’t up to the task.

I had a lot of trouble swallowing pills & capsules as a child, but gradually overcame it. Very occasionally it troubles me.
