I can't tell you how much you should watch this video if you like the moon, or astronomy, or just space.

Hank Green put together a half-hour video "Explaining the Most Important Artemis II Photos". It's a very different feel from his usual videos. He uses a calm, conversational tone, and he doesn't appear on screen. Instead, he shows us pictures from space and explains why they're remarkable.

100% worth your time if you like space at all.

I've been curious about Artemis pics, but TBH, haven't felt like reading articles or blogs to see them. This video removes the task of reading, and the annoying things on web pages, and provides the atmosphere that lets you get lost in the topic. Just what I needed.

@mytwobits01 Watched this without seeing the channel name. I've stopped caring about who posts videos and just watch shit that interests me.

@ligniform
The risk there is that a lot of stuff on YouTube is designed to be *interesting* without being designed to be *true*; in fact, they're sometimes designed not to be.

I've seen enough of Hank Green that I take him seriously. He has a good education; he's genuinely interested in learning, not just talking; and he routinely admits when he gets things wrong. In my eyes, that puts him head-and-shoulders above the vast majority of people on YouTube.

@mytwobits01 For sure. I just don't like the idolization of content creators where quality drops and people still watch because "I've been subbed since 2015!".
@ligniform
Ah, okay. I guess I haven't seen that phenomenon. I have enough trouble keeping up with the stuff that is good quality. 😄

Me: ok.
