for the cis people who apparently don’t know this and probably won’t be reading this

when someone proposes they want to “cure” a trans person, via anything other than transitioning; they mean death. just mentally insert murder into any proposed “cure” other than transition.

e.g.

“i don’t hate transgender people. I just think they’re very confused, mentally ill, and they need murder”

“but” you say that “that’s obviously an exaggeration. they don’t mean that. They’re just looking for alternative treatments for gender dysphoria”

1. the premise here is inherently transphobic- as in, the assumption is we’re afraid of an outcome in which a trans person transitions- that transitioning is a last resort we must avoid at all costs

2. The idea is to trick potential allies into believing this rhetoric is benevolent and caring until after the trans people are already dead.

And I keep seeing cis people fall for this ruse over and over again.

It’s easy to test what they really mean. You just need to ask the most basic of questions like “what do you mean by cure”

they will usually come right out and say death, after enough questions
