Valles Caldera National Preserve in early October. I would live there if I could.

@Tamami I always wish I could live in your paintings. Whereโ€™s Mary Poppins when you need her?
@PhilRedbeard Well, now that you mention it, I too want to live in my paintings... There are no people in them... especially the bad ones! ๐Ÿคฃ Thank you for your kind words, Phil!

@Tamami

So pretty, and I love that itโ€™s a prairie dog sanctuary.

@BunnyMama Yes, I saw MANY of them, and a fat coyote (who gets plenty of proteins, so it appears)!

@Tamami

Oh no! Nature is not kind :(

@BunnyMama I know, I'm sorry! ๐Ÿ˜ญ

@Tamami ๐Ÿ˜ stunning. Pastels are always something Iโ€™ve returned too over the years but never quite got the hang of them the way Iโ€™d like too.

This is beautiful work (all of yours is!) thanks for the inspiration (and motivation) ๐Ÿค™

@craftykraken Thank you for your kind word. The key to "interesting" pastel paintings is... underpainting and experiments!

@Tamami the greens are my favourite part. I mean, I love everything but. I have a soft spot for green.

It reminds me of hiking in the moutains (the Mercantour, southern Alps). Different but familiar in a way.

@PeryleneBleu Yes, this place had such soft warm greens (because there are almost always some water running through this plain). I was there near the sunset hour, and that light made the grasses look more copper-orangey. It was beautiful.
