@app thanks very much for this. I'm hearing "stream connection lost" quite often. Is this normal?
@techsinger Could be an issue with either your connection or the instance. We're on the same instance as you are here and don't see that message.
@app Also, if I may ask, is there a way to stop that message from being spoken? If it goes down it goes down, but I assume it will come up again.
@techsinger as of this current moment, no.
@app thanks very much. Something weird, though. I put "stream connection lost" in my NVDA dictionary and it's still saying it. Also, it's not in my speech history for NVDA. Do you have any ideas on this?
@techsinger NVDA's gotten kind of weird about things that it actually passes through the dictionary now adays. It used to be that anything that was spoken was passed through, now that's not always the case.
@app Again, thanks for the answers. One more question. I have disabled streaming. I've never done that before. What should I expect?
@techsinger Posts might just come in on a small delay.
@app lovely. Thanks very much.
@app wtf? I think I'm losing it. I just heard it say "stream connection lost" again. Is it possible that it's doing that despite streaming having been disabled and my having restarted?
@techsinger Wait a sec. Could another app on your system possibly be doing that?
@techsinger Hahaha. You're running FastSM, and that's what's doing it. I just looked and TC's code doesn't say stream connection lost anywhere, FastSM's does.
@app genius. There's no other word. Pure genius. Sorry to have disturbed. Just to show you the stupidity of the user, I was running SM on my 10 machine and TC on my Windows 7 machine. I didn't know which was saying it, obviously. Talk about bad timing. Again,
sorry to have disturbed
@techsinger Hahahahahaha! I'm very amused.
@app Oh, and another thing, just FYI. I can now launch TC on Windows 7 seemingly without VXKex. The checkboxEnable VxKex for this program is off, but it's working without issue so far as I can see.
@techsinger What in the world, how odd. I have no explanation for that currently.
@app no clue. Maybe it's because VX is installed? Again, though, tc .9 has that box completely unchecked, no other stuff is checked in that dialog. the box in properties for .8 is checked and has been for months.
@app Whenever you have a minute, could you be good enough to launch the timeline for mastodon.stickbear.me many of the posts in that timeline are not announced as you go alt+win+up/down through the timeline. I have no clue why. Are you seeing this?
@techsinger These are boosts from users. I believe this is a bug.
@app are you sure, if I may ask? I do see a few boosts being available. For example, and this is just the first one I encountered, I got Josh: Boosting Bri (Bri): FastPlay 0.6.2. Add the ability to reorder stations and podcasts in the favorites tabs, using control up and down arrows. There is a reset to alphabetical option in the advanced tab.Add error dialogs for why spacial audio is unable to work.https://masonasons.me/pages/FastSuite.php, 5 minutes ago, Mastodon
Fast Suite, a set of programs designed to be accessible, light weight and fast

@techsinger not 100% sure of course, but in the past that's what silent posts in remote timelines signified.
@app It's very possible. As I said, it may well be that, when the post is a boost of someone the reader follows, it's spoken. Note that the last version did announce all of them, I should say.
@app thank you, this is fixed, at least I can't get it to break.
@app However, this is a boost of an account I follow.
