The astronaut descriptions of the Moon's surface and their photos will be combined with data from the LRO -- a satellite that's been orbiting the Moon for 17 years taking photos, etc. for mapping. The human eye can discern details and untangle confusing details around albedo and other effects. #Artemis #moon

One of my favorite descriptions heard:

"We talked about naming some colors. A brownish hue and a greenish hue. And, I'll tell you, like right now, Aristarchus, the plateau.... it's hard for me to see from this window.... but that had greenish hues to me, and was very unique."
Jeremy Hansen / Artemis II astronaut
