@bosquebill I do recall the original 1983 'V' TV miniseries that was a master class in how fascists take over. And the V aliens did disappear the scientists immediately. So any Qanon type conspiracy theory about this will have a basis to work with.
@timo21 About the only thing I can remember about the series (other than I tuned in each week) was the sexy alien babe and the cheap looking matte painting of the totally infeasible water conduits leading up to space so they can steal our water. Oops. Spoilers LOL
