🍃Carkner🥺Have been exploring Boven Digoel content on #Wikipedia again this week as I'm thinking of getting back into researching it this year. (I expanded the English one a lot a few years ago.) And damn, for something about a Dutch historical crime, the Dutch-language article is pitiful.

The only source it cites is De Jong's 1969 book about the Netherlands and WWII, which is OK on its own but definitely insufficient for this topic. And of the three Recommended Readings it suggests the pro-concentration camp book by the camp doctor and NSB (fascist party) activist LJA Schoonheyt!!
The total length of the article is 1/10th as long as, for example, the Dutch-language article about Westerbork transit camp, which actually cites 21st century literature and doesn't recommend any books written by Nazis to learn about the camp
