#Serbia and #Israel’s Elbit Systems are building a joint drone factory near Belgrade which will produce short-range armed #UAVs and long-range drones capable of operating at 6km altitude, with #Elbit holding majority 51% stake.

Israel, whose entire national identity is built on the imperative of “never again,” is now building a drone factory with the state the ICJ found violated the Genocide Convention by failing to prevent the Srebrenica genocide.

The UN Special Rapporteur named Elbit among companies profiting from the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Elbit’s 2025 revenue: $8 billion. In fact, the occupation and the genocide aren’t interrupting Israeli arms exports, they’re driving them. before this Israel armed #apartheid South Africa, the #Rwandan Hutu government during the 1994 genocide (records still sealed by court order), and #Guatemalan forces during their genocide.

[…] “The military-industrial complex has become the economic backbone of the State. Between 2020 and 2024, Israel was the eighth largest arms exporter worldwide. The two most prominent Israeli weapons companies – Elbit Systems, established as a public-private partnership and later privatized, and state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) – are among the top 50 arms manufacturers globally. Since 2023, Elbit has cooperated closely on Israeli military operations, embedding key staff in the Ministry of Defense, and was awarded the 2024 Israeli Defense Prize. Elbit and IAI provide a critical domestic supply of weaponry, and reinforce Israel’s military alliances through arms exports and joint development of military technology.”

Once, in the seventies, before the world began to change, Israel cooperated with all kinds of pariah and outcast regimes, and served as an indirect channel for arms sales to and from them — sometimes together with the US, sometimes without. This alliance included states the US was image-constrained from openly recognizing, among them Taiwan and apartheid South Africa. When weapons needed to be supplied to Iran to grease the Contras in Nicaragua, Israel’s capabilities in these dark domains proved useful there too. What’s left today? Netanyahu has permanently burned any possibility of relations with Iran, even purely for profit. And unlike South Africa and Taiwan, which moved on with their lives, Israel remained an outcast. So what has Bibi brought us? The Genocide Alliance: Israel has wonderful relations with Serbia, Eritrea, and Rwanda — and soon a base in Somaliland…
