I find BGAs quite scary still.

@hkz the BGA is the easy part, almost. Removing the old chip WITHOUT ripping off all those tiny capacitors, and removing the underfill is INCREDIBLE. All the while not even bothering to put tape over the connectors...

@root42 @hkz Could be a market from broken phones where the NAND is fine.

That said the RAM is the concern for me. CPU/GPU speed is way more than I need.

@yon @root42 hmmm, in the video he mentions that the NAND must be new one. A recovered one cannot be used on that board.

Did not know the NANDs could end up locked to a device, but I guess that's the situation now.

@hkz @root42 That’s a bummer. I know there’s something similar with the Mac Studio drives and the nand there. :(

It’s a bad trend, whatever the technical reason is.
