Walking a dog in her last weeks is a constant tension between thinking: this takes so long now & how many walks are left? 😢 Every day for 9 years I’ve walked 2 - 4x daily & will miss that as well as her. 30-45 min walk takes an hour now but not because of physical limitation, more that she wants to sniff every inch, maybe because her eyesight is so bad now.

I’m glad she made it to the sunny days as she likes nothng more than rolling around on the grass in the sun.

@bobthomson70 you have a lovely doy 💕 I hope she can still stay with you for a long time. Losing such a good companion is always so hard. 😢

@K4mpfie thanks. Like me, she has kidney disease, but I had a transplant nearly a year ago and no such option for her sadly, so a matter of time. She still has good quality of life despite deficits but this will be her last summer for sure. The hot weather she is finding very hard - she is a sun dog who loved to lie and bake before.
